Arts Board Miami
Building leadership that includes increased corporate involvement is
essential to maintaining a vital and vibrant cultural community. To
respond effectively to changing environments, arts administrators and
board members have had to become increasingly sophisticated in areas
such as marketing, public relations, finance, fund-raising, management,
planning and technology. These are the skills business professionals
can bring to cultural boards. Recognizing that leadership in the arts
needs to expand to meet the current demands being placed on cultural
organizations, the Arts & Business Council in partnership with
local chambers and the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs has
developed Arts Board Miami, an initiative to identify, recruit, train
and place business professionals on arts boards.
ArtsBoard Miami Program Components include the following:
Arts Board Leadership Seminar: For business professionals interested in serving on non-profit boards.
Arts Board Referral Network: Matches prospective board members to arts groups recruiting new board members.
